Sunday mega block timings - 28th October 2012

Thane-Kalyan:

Fast trains leaving CST from 10.08 am to 2.51 pm will run on slow line between Thane and Kalyan stations & will halt at all stations in between.

Nerul-Panvel:

Harbour line trains leaving Panvel from 10.43 am to 2.58 pm will remain suspended between Panvel and Nerul stations.

Harbour line trains leaving Nerul towards Panvel from 10.41 am to 3.17 pm will remain suspended between Panvel and Nerul stations.

Thane-Panvel:

Local trains leaving Panvel for Thane from 11.05 am to 3.19 pm will remain suspended between Panvel and Nerul stations.

Thane-Panvel trains leaving Nerul from 11.42 am to 2.48 pm will remain suspended between Panvel and Nerul stations.

Andheri-Panvel:

Panvel – Andheri services will remain cancelled during the block period.

However special local trains will run o­n Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus – Nerul section o­n Harbour line and Thane –Nerul section o­n Trans Harbour line during the block period.

Sunday Mega Block Timings - 14th October 2012

Between Kurla and Mankhurd:

All Down Harbour line trains (What are Up line trains and Down line trains) for Vashi / Belapur / Panvel leaving CST station from 10.23 am to 3.01 pm will remain suspended.

Up Harbour line trains leaving Panvel/Belapur/Vashi from 10.20 am to 3.04 pm will remain suspended.

Special trains will run between CST and Kurla, also between Mankhurd and Panvel during the block period.

Western line night block between Vasai and Virar:
Three-hour jumbo block from 1 am to 4 am o­n both Up & Down slow line between Vasai Road and Virar stations. During the block some Down Churchgate-Virar locals and Up Virar-Churchgate locals will be run on fast track between Virar and Vasai Road/Borivali stations.

Andheri - CST: 10.40 am to 3.45 pm
Kurla-CST: 10.50 am to 3.55 pm. Trains leaving from Panvel will run on Central Main line from Kurla station during the mega block.
Kalyan-Thane: Fast trains to CST will run on slow line from Kalyan to Thane station from 11.25 pm to 3.43 pm
Borivli-Goregaon: On slow line from 10.35 am to 3.35 pm. Sow trains will run on fast line between these stations and some trains will be cancelled.

Sunday Mega Block Timings | 19th August 2012

Matunga and Mulund: 

Down fast line services leaving CST from 10.28 am to 3.25 pm will be diverted o­n slow line between Matunga and Mulund stations & will halt at all stations between Sion and Mulund during the block period.

Mankhurd and Nerul: 

Down Harbour line services to Panvel / Belapur / Vashi leaving CST from 10.12 am to 3.25 pm and Up Harbour line services towards CST leaving Panvel / Belapur / Vashi from 10.20 am to 3.39 pm will remain suspended.

However special local trains will run o­n CST-Mankhurd and Panvel-Thane sections during the block period. Harbour line passengers are permitted to travel Via Trans Harbour Line / Main Line during the block period. 

Churchgate and Mumbai Central:

 Jumbo block between Churchgate and Mumbai Central (local) stations from 10.35 am to 3.35 pm on on both Up and Down local slow lines. The trains will run on fast lines between Churchgate and Mumbai Central stations. Due to the block some local trains will remain cancelled.

Nerul-Panvel: Up Harbour line services for CST leaving Panvel from 10.43 am to 3.57 pm will remain suspended between Panvel and Nerul and Down Harbour line services from CSTM to Panvel leaving Nerul from 10.41 am to 3.25 pm will remain suspended between Nerul and Panvel.

Thane-Panvel: Up Trans Harbour line services towards Thane leaving Panvel from 11.05 am to 3.19 pm will remain suspended between Panvel and Nerul and Down Trans Harbour line services from Thane to Panvel leaving Nerul from 10.31 am to 3.29 pm will remain suspended between Nerul and Panvel.

However, special local trains will run o­n CST- Nerul and Thane - Nerul section during the block period.

Panvel - Andheri services will remain cancelled during the block period.

Kasara local derailed; then hit by Vidarbha Express

Six coaches of Kasara-CST local train derailed (as per initial reports) late in the night on 19th July 2012. And if it wasn't bad enough, 12105 Mumbai-Gondia Vidarbha Express heading to Nagpur collided with the derailed Kasara train!

Three people are reported dead and over 30 injured as per the first reports.

Mumbai Local Trains - Sunday Mega Block

Here are the mega block timings for today:
Thane-Kalyan: Down fast trains leaving CST from 10.03 am to 01.40 pm will be diverted o­n down slow line between Thane and Kalyan stations and will halt at all stations between Thane and Kalyan.

CST-Bandra/Andheri: Harbour line local train services leaving CST from 10.48 am to 4.04 pm for Bandra/Andheri and Harbour line services leaving Bandra /Andheri from 10.40 am to 3.45 pm for CST will remain suspended.

CST-Panvel / Belapur / Vashi: Harbour line services leaving CST from 10.52 am to 3.55 pm for Panvel / Belapur / Vashi will run via Main line between CST and Kurla. These trains will not halt at Currey Road and Chinchpokli stations.


Harbour line passengers for Bandra/ Andheri are permitted to travel via Main / Western line from 10 am to 6 pm during the mega block period.

Mahim-Mumbai Central: There will be a jumbo block between Mahim Junction and Mumbai Central stations from 10.35 am to 3.35 pm o­n Up and Down fast lines. During the block, all Up through line trains will run o­n Up slow lines between Santacruz and Mumbai Central stations and Down through line trains will run o­n Down slow lines between Mumbai Central and Santacruz stations. All Mail/Express trains will run o­n fifth line between Mahim and Mumbai Central. Due to block, some Up and Down local trains will remain cancelled.

Khaali train or daydreaming?

We wish for so many things in a day. And Mumbai local train commuters have some common wishes every single day:
"I wish I catch the 8.20 local."
"I wish I get a window seat."
"I wish no one pushes me today."
"I wish I get a comfortable place to stand."
"I wish the vendor who sells accessories boards my compartment today."
"I wish I get an empty train." Well, this mostly falls under the daydreaming category ;)

Some of us doze off in trains while our heads plays pendulum on the shoulders of aaju-baaju waale log! And then we get lost in our dreams or imaginations while we are half asleep. A train waiting for us at the platform so that we get in easily... choice of window seats, operational fans without kachra, great leg space, head space, shoulder space... no chillam chilli... no dhakka mukki... no paseene ki badboo... and then the train comes to a sudden halt! The aunty whose shoulder acted as our perfumed pillow gets off and someone who forgot wearing the deodorant or talcum powder chipkofies to us! We wake up to the smell of the sweat!

Or on a super lucky day, we actually get an empty train!That happened with me today!
