Parel to get another platform!

Pinch yourself, it's true! Parel might finally get a new platform and end the woes of many commuters who are 'forced' to cross railway tracks at Parel station. How I have struggled in the jam-packed FOB! But this platform will be connected to the foot over-bridge and de-congest the existing bridge.

Mega block in central line tomorrow on 21st March

Due to the work on the 7th line between CST and Byculla stations, Central Railway has announced a mega block on Sunday 21st March 2010. The timing of the mega block is as follows:
From Parel to Masjid: 7.30 am to 12 in the night
From Masjid to Byculla: 7.30 am to 6.30 pm

Super slow Kurla local of 9:22 am

It took me 45 minutes to reach Parel station after I boarded the Kurla local that leaves for CST at 9:22 am (21st Dec 2009). Worst was that while our train was stationary at Kurla's platform number 3, other trains kept arriving and moving ahead from platform number 4. We stayed in the train everytime thinking that at least now it will move. Too much optimism on a Monday morning I suppose.

Water logging outside Parel / Elphinstone station - July 8

There’s water logging outside Parel / Elphinstone station on the west side. To take bus no. 137, walk up to the main road (under the flyover). It’s a good idea by BEST as people need not stand in the rain water and have the flyover as the roof.
